Murli and Usha Menon

Murli and Usha Menon, founders of Impact International, have dedicated their lives to evangelism and mobilizes church planting in their homeland, India. But the thing that drew Crescendo Music is Usha’s amazing plans to build a new generation of God’s Army by helping the poor and unwanted children of India.

Culturally, having baby girls means a tremendous financial dowry burden on the family. For this reason, girl infants are often abandoned or murdered by their own parents. Through the help of Christian mid-wives, Usha has rescued many infant girls from this fate. She adopts these girls and provides social advantages to them by given them the Menon last name. Their ministry to rescue female babies from infanticide in their immediate area of Tamil Nadu and to provide a home for these girls continues to expand.

Moreover, Usha has also reached out to the children living on the streets. With the approval of their parents, Usha has arranged for these street children to receive an education at a Christian school. The school has agreed to teach these children while Usha provides the school supplies, shelter and food needed for them. Seeing the inside of a building for the first time, feeling their toes inside a pair of shoes, the excitement twinkling in their eyes…, we pray that their hearts and lives be forever altered by the Love of God.

Crescendo Music’s co-founder, Karen Cheng, has spent some time in India with her church missionary team. There she met Usha and her house of full of girls. We are in awe of what God can do through willing hearts. In the past few years, they are in the process of building a facility that will hold both the Bible school they head over, and an orphanage they oversee.
